Ingredients

  • 1 lb Brussels sprouts
  • 1 T Olive oil
  • ⅛ t Salt
  • ¼ t Pepper
  • ¼ c Water, warm
  • 1 T Maple syrup
  • Pinch cayenne pepper

Directions

  1. PREHEAT the oven to 450°F
  2. REMOVE discolored leaves and ends of Brussels sprouts. CUT sprouts in half or quarter if large.
  3. COMBINE Brussels sprouts and olive oil on a baking sheet large enough to hold the sprouts in 1 layer.
  4. SEASON with salt and pepper.
  5. ROAST in upper third of the oven.
  6. STIR halfway through, roasting until vegetables are golden and tender, 15-20 minutes.
  7. In a small bowl, STIR water, syrup and cayenne. POUR onto the hot baking sheet and MIX well.
