Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ziti pasta, dry
  • 1 Onion, chopped
  • 1 lb Ground beef, extra lean, shredded
  • 4 ½ c Spaghetti sauce (3-15 oz cans)
  • 4 slices Provolone cheese
  • 1 ½ c Sour cream, fat-free
  • 1 ½ c Mozzarella cheese, shredded, fat-free
  • 2 T Parmesan cheese, grated

Directions

  1. PREHEAT oven to 350°F.
  2. BOIL a large pot of water. ADD ziti pasta, and COOK until al dente, about 8 minutes; DRAIN.
  3. In a large skillet, BROWN onion and ground beef, DRAIN. ADD spaghetti sauce, and SIMMER 15 minutes.
  4. SPRAY a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray. Layer as follows: /2 of the ziti, provolone cheese, fat-free sour cream, 1/2 sauce mixture, remaining ziti, mozzarella cheese and remaining sauce mixture. TOP with grated parmesan cheese.
  5. BAKE for 30 minutes in preheated oven or until cheeses are melted.

Footnote: Elbow macaroni could be used in place of ziti pasta.
