Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground beef, extra lean
  • 1 c Onion, chopped
  • 1½ c Pasta, bow tie, uncooked
  • ¾ c Beef broth, low sodium
  • 1 t Italian seasoning
  • 1 t Chili powder
  • ¼ t Black pepper
  • 1 c Bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 c Tomato, chopped
  • 1 c Cheddar cheese, shredded, reduced fat

Directions

  1. In a large skillet COOK beef and onion over medium heat until meat is done. RINSE and DRAIN meat/onions and RETURN to skillet.
  2. COOK pasta as directed omitting salt and fat.
  3. To the skillet STIR in the broth, cooked pasta and seasonings.
  4. Bring to a BOIL. REDUCE heat, and SIMMER.
  5. ADD bell pepper and tomato and COOK about 2 minutes. STIR occasionally.
  6. SPRIKLE with cheese and SERVE.
