Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground beef, extra lean
  • ½ c Bell pepper, chopped
  • ½ c Onion, chopped
  • 1 Garlic clove, minced
  • ⅛ t Pepper, ground
  • ⅓ c Cheddar cheese, shredded, reduced fat
  • 2 T Pickle relish
  • 1 T Mustard
  • 1 ½ T Ketchup
  • 8 Hamburger buns, whole wheat
  • 1 Tomato, sliced
  • 1 c Lettuce leaves

Directions

  1. In a large skillet, COOK ground beef, peppers, onions and garlic. DRAIN, RINSE and RETURN to skillet.
  2. To the skillet, ADD pepper, cheese, relish, mustard and ketchup. MIX until cheese is melted.
  3. SERVE on whole wheat buns and TOP with lettuce and tomato (⅓ c meat mixture/bun).
