c = cup, T = tablespoon, t = teaspoon, lb = pound, oz = ounce, fl oz = fluid ounce, pkg = package


  • 1¼ c Flour
  • ½ c Flour, whole-wheat
  • 1 c Sugar
  • 1 t Baking soda
  • ½ t Salt
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 Bananas, mashed
  • ½ c Yogurt, vanilla, low-fat
  • ½ c Walnuts, chopped


  • ½ T Butter, melted
  • ¼ t Vanilla
  • ⅓ c Powdered sugar
  • ½ t Milk, skim


  1. WASH hands with soap and water.
  2. PREHEAT oven to 350 F if using a metal pan or 325 F if using a glass dish.
  3. SPRAY a 5x9 loaf pan with cooking spray.
  4. In a large bowl, COMBINE flours, sugar, baking soda and salt.
  5. In a small bowl, COMBINE bananas, eggs, yogurt, buttermilk and vanilla.
  6. ADD wet ingredients into the large bowl with the dry ingredients. FOLD in the walnuts.
  7. POUR into a loaf pan. BAKE for 1 hour and 15 minutes if using a metal pan or 1 hour and 25 minutes if using a glass dish.
  8. MIX glaze ingredients in a small bowl and POUR over top of bread while still in the pan.
  9. ALLOW to cool for 10 minutes then CUT into 12 slices.
