Baked Apples

4 apples, medium

½ c. raisins or prunes (chopped)

2 T. brown sugar

½ t. cinnamon

¼ t. nutmeg, ground

1/3 c. apple juice or water

 

Core apples, peeling a strip from the top of each.  Place apples in a 2-qt casserole dish.  Combine the raisins, brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg.  Spoon into center of apples.  Pour apple juice into casserole dish.  Bake apples in a 350° F oven for 40-45 minutes or until the apples are tender.    


Makes 4 servings.
