Chicken Cacciatore

1 onion, chopped

1 c. canned tomatoes

½ c. tomato sauce

1/8 t. garlic powder

1 t. oregano

1/8 t. pepper

4 pieces chicken, skin removed (thighs, breasts, or legs)


Peel and chop the onion.  Put chopped onion in a saucepan.  Add the tomatoes, tomato sauce, garlic powder, oregano and pepper.  Simmer on low heat for 3 minutes.  Add the chicken to the saucepan.  Cook, covered, over low heat for about 1 hour, or until the chicken is tender.


Makes 4 servings.
